Review + Blog Tour: Hot Redemption by K.D. Penn

Title: Hot Redemption
Author: K.D. Penn (pseudonym for Kenya Wright and D.T. Dyllin)
Genre: Cyberpunk Erotic Romance
Publisher: Dragonfairy Press
Expected publication: July 2013

Blurb:
Epic and his brothers don’t rob strip clubs for fun or fame, but to use the electric currency to take care of their family. With androids and robots flooding the job market, it’s almost impossible for humans to find work. Besides, stealing comes easy to the gang, until Phoenix steps into their lives, snatching away their bounty and fogging up Epic’s mind with her seductive scent.

Shots blare. A chase ensues. Both sides refuse to yield. And the small compromise that comes is brought by chains and a promise for a bigger hit—on a planet far away from earth.

Can Epic and Phoenix work together to rescue themselves from poverty?

Or will they find another type of redemption, one lathered in lust and warmth, pleasure, and the type of undemanding love that no human can live without?

Review:

This book went from 0 to 60 in 2.5 pages and never looked back. Epic is the eldest of 10 brothers and sisters, just trying to provide for all those hungry mouths to feed he turns to robbing strip club patrons of their electronic currency and this last hit he and his brothers are planning could take care of them for the rest of their lives. Nix A.K.A Phoenix is a little crazy and whole lot broken when these guys walked into the club she works at and holds up the joint, until she robs the robbers and makes off with their loot. When Epic and crew track her down through her elaborate tattoo on her back, can they convince her to join them on their last heist? And can Epic and Nix resist the attraction they both feel towards each other?

These characters were just plain awesome. Nix was my favorite because of her back story mixed with her kick-ass attitude. She has been through so much in her life that she makes you want to burst into tears when you learn about it, but still give her a fist bump when she kicks someones ass. Nix has that great balance of vulnerability, because clearly her parents and Teddy made her crack, but still holds that edgy gritty persona that make a character like hers a perfect match from someone like Epic. He is the yin to Nix's yang, someone forced into being the tough guy but has a heart hidden beneath all that sexy that is gold. He also has his issues, but at the end of the day everything he is doing is for his family and you can't hate a guy like that. Which is why Nix can not leave him be even if she thinks she should. She is scared of what might become with Epic, but that's okay because it gives him a chance to prove his worth of love.

The world in this book is just ridiculous. I wanted to know so much more about the universe these people live in because it isn't just an Earth that has been laid waste in, but there are these hints of greater cosmic entities like The Duchess of Light. Who is she? Why is she ruling the galaxy? There is so much I wanted to find out about everything in this world, there couldn't possibly be enough pages to talk about it. However, what we did read was well worth the time to read this book. Hot Redemption is the hot and sexy version of Bonnie and Clyde taking on the galaxy that was just pure fun and drama. - My Opinion- Buy it!

About the Authors

K.D. Penn is a pseudonym for the writing team of Kenya Wright and D.T. Dyllin. Or to make it simpler for you…

Kenya Wright always knew she would be famous since the ripe old age of six when she sang the Michael Jackson thriller song in her bathroom mirror. She has tried her hand at many things from enlisting in the Navy for six years as a Persian-Farsi linguist to being a nude model at an art university.

However, writing has been the only constant love in her life. Will she succeed? Of course.

For she has been coined The Urban Fantasy Queen, the Super Iconic Writer of this Age, The Lyrical Genius of Our Generation. Granted, these are all terms coined by her, within the private walls of her bathroom as she still sings the Michael Jackson thriller song.

Kenya Wright currently resides in Miami with her three amazing, overactive children, a
supportive, gorgeous husband, and three cool black cats that refuse to stop sleeping on Kenya’s head at night.

Cynical-Optimist. Chocolate-holic. Sarcasm Addict. Paranormal Believer. Self-Imposed Insomniac. Sci-Fi Geek. Animal Lover. Writer…are just a few words to describe D.T. Dyllin. She was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and now lives in Nashville, Tennessee with her husband and two very spoiled GSDs.
