Review: The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan

The Red Pyramid (Kane Chronicles, #1)

Review:
Oh, Mr. Riordan....you get me every time I pick something up of yours.

The Red Pyramid was no different. It had all the huge adventure story lines of the Percy Jackson but with everything you could possibly imagine (and maybe more than that) of Egyptian mythology. The characters were well developed and really interesting, the plot was original and over the top, and the individual situations that make up the bigger plot are fast paced and end up getting to where you need to be at the end in a timely fashion....that's to say, there is never a dull moment in this book!

Learning a whole new culture was amazing, from hearing the stories and legends of the Egyptians, to meeting a whole new set of gods, it never feels like a history, even though it is one. He spins a tale, you learn a lot, you get a cliff-hanger and you want to hate the author for doing this to you AGAIN, but really you can't help but love every minute of it. There are so many questions I feel are left answered, that I can't wait to read the next one....now if only my library had it available :( -My Opinion-Buy it!
