Review:
If I told you this was a story about a girl who falls in love with a werewolf, you're going to start thinking along the lines of Twilight and scoff at me. You would be dead wrong about Moonlight Destiny. Not only is this an intense love story but the mystical elements going on in this story surprised me to say the least. Being attacked by creatures that shouldn't exist and learning there are other creatures that live in the pages of fairy tales are plot twists enough, but Alyssa creating a bond for one with such intensity might be enough to send even the most calm person into a spiral.

I think what made me like this story so much was the fact that Alyssa hesitated a bit both when it came to believing these creatures existed and how she felt about Derek. It wasn't insta-love, which I enjoy IMMENSELY in a story and she didn't just automatically accept that there are people that change into werewolves. That usually bothers me in this kind of story because, let's be honest, if you or I were to be told all these lore characters existed, we would think that person is nuts.  Bringing a supernatural element into a story needs to be done in a believable way and I think Moonlight Destiny is successful in doing that. Add to her head being on straight, Alyssa is a strong character. There were many opportunities in this book that she could have collapsed and said enough, but she didn't. She pushed through multiple attacks and some heart break but still remained an independent, strong willed women and I loved that. She asked for help when it was needed but she didn't let Derek or any of the others tell her what to do  or how to do something. It really made her a character I could get behind and made the story that much better.

My only complaint about Moonlight Destiny is I wanted to know more about the other characters. I loved the interaction with the other pack members like Jack, Danny, Craig and Reyna, and really want to know more about them. There was a lot of story to be told in this one book, however, so I completely understood that there wasn't enough time to really get to know everyone and really hope we continue the insight in future books! If that is the only thing I have to bitch about, I think that's pretty much telling of how much I enjoyed it. This part of her story might be over but it's pretty clear that Alyssa and Derek have a long way ahead of them and can not wait to see what happens next for all of these characters- My Opinion- Buy it!
