This excerpt from “Valerie: Daughter of the Dragon” goes a long way in giving some background into Valerie’s moral sensibilities. She is a predator who requires human blood to survive, but has adapted to her surroundings. Covens’ around the world send her willing sacrifices who offer themselves to sustain their vampire princess. Using sex as the ultimate form of release she is able to combine both passion and pain into a single experience.
“Rogelio,” Paul calls over to the stone and waiting for the young man to face him, “your life will be given so that our Princess may be satiated. Do you accept this charge freely?”

Paul looks to the young man and then to Valerie and back to him again trying to read his eyes. Paul is a master at reading faces and body language, so he shifts uneasily preparing to react should Rogelio attempt to make a sudden move towards him or Valerie. A hint of tension permeates the coolness of the room.
Rogelio all but ignores Paul’s presence as he gazes, seemingly losing himself in Valerie’s eyes. She opens her mind to his and reads his thoughts. His mind gushes with thoughts of having his way with her and to become lost inside of her cool naked flesh. She nods her approval and lets her own mind return the thoughts of their lovemaking.
“I think our guest would like to be alone with me,” she says looking at Paul trying to suppress a laugh.
Paul reluctantly bows to show his understanding and heads up the stairs, leaving them alone. He stands at the doorway a moment longer, a bit unsure about leaving them, but trusts Valerie’s instincts knowing that when all is said and done, she is the predator and young Rogelio, is her prey.

Author:
Robert is a fan of all things relating to vampires. It’s this
obsession with vampires that makes his debut, “Valerie: Daughter of the
Dragon”, the perfect vehicle to launch his writing career. Robert was born and
raised in Northeast Ohio at a time when late night television stations filled
their programming with old horror movies. Robert gravitated towards the motion
picture vampire, but also the vampires depicted in the writings of Stephen
King, F. Paul Wilson, and Robert McCammon.
Robert worked at JC Penney’s, where he spent 10 years in the
Visual Display Department. His love of vampires, and a decade in the
retail/fashion industry, provided the inspiration to create his own vampire
tale. After several years of writing and re-writing, “Valerie: Daughter of the
Dragon” was born.
