Excerpts-
From Sabella -
Although I tried to avert my gaze, I couldn't bring myself to look away from his beautiful eyes. They pulled me in from the chaos like a lifeline. In the dark blue sea of endless comfort, I was calm and at peace. The last two days of confusion and the whirlwind of emotions were all settled in his eyes.

From The CEO’s Wife-
Blair paused just outside the door to Evan’s office, her heart hammering in her chest. Just on the other side was her husband—her very rich, powerful, sexy husband. When had she become intimidated by him? When had the thought of initiating sex with him become something to worry over as opposed to something fun and sensual?
When she realized she might lose him, that’s when. And now, it seemed like everything depended on what she did next. She needed to prove to Evan that she still wanted him, that she would do whatever it took to save their drowning marriage. She swallowed past the ball of nerves lodged in her throat and placed her hand on the knob. His secretary had told her that Evan was alone in there and had no more meetings until after lunch. Now was her window of opportunity. Yesterday, he’d gone into a hotel with another woman. A slip up she was willing to forgive him for just this once. After she rocked his world, of course. Remind him who he chose, she told herself for the millionth time. Don’t let him get away.
She turned the knob and squared her shoulders, remembering her practiced seduction as she strode into the room, locking the door behind her. Determination kept her chin high and her expression sultry. Confidence swung her hips as she sauntered across the large office. Evan, who had been having a heated conversation on the phone, dropped the handset. Mouth hanging open, he stood. His eyes were wide as they took in her short, blunt blonde bob, fully made up face, black trench coat, and knee-high leather black boots. The heels clicked across the tiles as she came in front of his desk, pausing to strike a pose; legs spread, one hand on her hip.
“Blair?” He smiled. “What have you done to yourself?”
Blair caressed the strands of her bob and smiled. “It’s not what I’ve done to me,” she purred, “it’s more about what I’m going to do to you.”
Evan’s grin widened as he fumbled for the dropped phone. “Carl? Let me call you back.”
Without waiting for a response, he dropped the phone into the cradle and rounded the desk. Blair stopped him before he could grab her with a hand on the middle of his chest. She needed to maintain control of the situation and couldn’t afford to let him touch her just yet. Those hands of his had always driven her wild.
She grasped his silk, blue and grey striped tie and yanked, pulling him behind her toward the desk. He followed happily, his hard body brushing up against hers.
“I don’t know what’s gotten into you, but I like it,” he murmured as she turned him, pushing him to sit on the edge of his desk. He reached behind him, shoving papers and files out of the way and obediently perching on the large piece of furniture.
“I seem to remember you always wanted to have sex in here,” she said as she reached for the belt holding her coat together. When Evan was newly promoted to CEO, he’d wanted to celebrate by taking her in the office, but Blair had refused. She’d been worried that someone would catch them, hear them, think she was trashy for doing it. Now she didn’t give a damn what anyone thought. If Evan wanted sex in his office then he was going to get it. From her. “I take it that’s still a fantasy of yours?”
Blair snatched her coat open, revealing the corset, thong, and stockings beneath. They were black and trimmed in red, Evan’s favorite color. His lower lip disappeared between his teeth at the sight, zeroing in on her breasts—which were displayed gloriously in the cups of the corset top.
“Hell yes.”

From My Beloved, Marie -
I reached down and squeezed the water from the washcloth. “Please don’t, Jacob. I don’t look pretty anymore,” she sobbed. Reaching out, I slowly turned her around, her eyes trying to escape mine. Gently, I washed her arms, and then dipped the cloth in the warm water.
“You will always be beautiful to me, my love. Even weak and underfed, you still take my breath away,” I replied softly.
“How can you say that? Look at me!” She was angry, and I could understand why.
“I am, my love, and I always will. I understand your anger and why you believe you don’t look pretty. But I didn’t marry you because of your looks. I married you because you were the bravest girl I have ever met.” I leaned in and kissed her stomach. “I married you because of those beautiful blue eyes filled with mischief.” I kissed her hip, and smiled as goose bumps broke out under my kiss. “I married you because of your stubborn nature, knowing that you would give me a good fight one day.” She laughed a little, and I kissed her other hip. Slowly, pulling her down on to my lap, I reached for her face and made her look at me. “I married you because you stole my heart the moment you looked at me. Yes, I see your body now as it is, but I also know that with my love and attention, you will be healthy again.” I kissed her on her mouth softly.

From Dinner Break - A More than Magic Series short story
I sighed and opened my eyes.
“I can’t,” I admitted. “I can’t think about anything other than that stupid rec center.” I tried, and failed again, to dislodge him and get up.
“Mm. Not good enough. You know, you’ve been here since eight, right? It’s almost eleven. You’ve been working on that crap for fifteen hours.”
“Jesus,” I groaned. “Has it really been that long?”
“See why I’m forcing you to relax?”
I sighed and leaned forward, until my forehead was resting against his. His skin was almost too cold, but I welcomed the discomfort. It gave me something else to think about. He draped his arms over my shoulders in a loose hug. His fingers ran down my back, rubbing in small circles, until they stopped on a painful knot. I closed my eyes, while he worked at it, and we just sat like that for a few minutes. By the time his skin had warmed up to my temperature, he had worked the knot out and found another. I leaned into his hand, feeling more comfortable and relaxed than I had in days.
“You were right. I needed a break,” I whispered.
Danio chuckled. “I know.”
He moved his hand up my back and pressed his fingers against the taut muscles in my neck. A headache I’d had for hours started to mercifully recede. I opened my eyes and found his dark blue ones looking back at me. They were swirling with a mesmerizing blend of blues; a water elemental trait that I had never expected to be able to decode. But now, every shade and ripple was as clear to me as the flaring reds and flickering orange eyes of a fire elemental. His eyes were splashing with merry, relaxed shades of blue. Yet, I could see a telltale trickle of gray, just ebbing and flowing on the edges of his irises. He was still worried about me.
I tilted my head, just a little, leaned forward, and kissed him.

clip_image010Elizabeth Kirke wanted to be an author before she even knew what an author was. She used to say that she wanted to be an artist, but that was only because she was too young to write and had to tell stories with pictures instead. She hasn't stopped writing since she learned how. It wasn't long before she dreamed of becoming an author and couldn't be happier now that that dream is a reality.
If she isn't writing...well, let's be honest; if she isn't writing she's probably on Facebook thinking that she should start writing. But, if she isn't writing or on Facebook, she's probably doing something involving books, baking, gardening, or yarn.
Like most slightly-nosy, avid readers, Elizabeth can't resist trying to catch a peek at books she sees people reading when out in public to see if she can figure out what it is. While doing just that one day, she realized that it would probably be the coolest-thing-ever if she caught a complete stranger reading one of her books. That's her new dream.

clip_image014Windy City writer Elizabeth Marx brings cosmopolitan flair to her fiction, which is a blend of romance and fast-paced Chicago living with a sprinkle of magical realism. In her past incarnation she was an interior designer—not a decorator—which basically means she has a piece of paper to prove that she knows how to match and measure things and can miraculously make mundane pieces of furniture appear to be masterpieces. Elizabeth says being an interior designer is one part shrink, one part marriage counselor and one part artist, skills eerily similar to those employed in writing.
Elizabeth grew up in Illinois and has also lived in Texas and Florida. If she's not pounding her head against the wall trying to get the words just right, you can find her at a softball field out in the boonies or sitting in the bleachers by a basketball court. Elizabeth resides with her husband, girls, and two cats who've spelled everyone into believing they're really dogs.
Elizabeth has traveled extensively, but still says there's no town like Chi-Town.
Jenna Pizzi is the bestselling author of the NA Destined series, as well as her romantic standalones Sweet Serendipity and Chance Encounters, and her romantic suspense The Long Road Home. She lives in Massachusetts with her children, her lazy old dog, and three cats that adopted her as their pet. When she is not writing, she loves spending time walking the beach, collecting rocks with her children, or exploring the deep dark woods of New England. When the muse calls and there is a heartstring to pull, you’ll find Jenna creating a world that will touch many lives.

Review: Reign of Ice (Forever Fae #4) by L.P. Dover

I use Grammarly's plagiarism detector because nobody wants to look like a Shia LaBoeuf apology!

Blurb:
Two courts to four is what needs to be … to save the land so shall we see.

The scroll has been found and now the fae know how to defeat the dark sorcerer, to end his evil existence in the Land of the Fae. However, the only thing standing in the way is the one bond that must be formed; the one that will empower all four courts together and make them invincible. Ariella and Brayden’s bond will not come easily, for Ariella is mischievous and head-strong with a heart full of love, while Brayden is strong and loyal with a heart made of ice.

What do you do when the fate of your land rests upon your shoulders because of the bond you must form to save it? How are you supposed to do that when the one man to help you fulfill the prophecy is the one who doesn't believe in love?

With all four princesses bound together as one, will they be strong enough to save the life of Ariella, who is destined to be the one who ends it, the one who will sacrifice everything to save the people she loves? In this final installment of the Forever Fae series you will see how the bonds of love and all the sacrifices it takes to truly conquer the evil once and for all.

Review:

As I close this chapter on The Land of Fae, it brings a smile to my face how this series ended with Reign of Ice. This series has been one of my favorites in the past year and I couldn't be happier with how everything went. This final story with Ariella and Brayden, the youngest of all the 8 Princes and Princesses, was fraught with the same passion and zeal I have come to expect in this series, while bringing to the table their own unique story. They cap a beautifully written series that is both awe-inspiring in its' landscape and compelling with its' characters. Reign of Ice should be on your TBR list, immediately.

First off, Ariella and Brayden. They are adorable together. You have this spit-fire of a girl, who doesn't take crap from anyone, including her Prince and then this quiet, reserved and serious guy who quite frankly seems a little bit shy to put it plainly. She follows the tradition of the women in her family by being a strong female but she is more on the mischievous side of confident and I thought that personality balanced with what she had to sacrifice for the good of everyone. Fun and playful grew up into someone who made the decision that had to be made, regardless of what others think about them. I think that trend of growth was also evident in Brayden as well because you had this seemingly cold character that blossomed into a swoon-worthy Prince throughout the story and as a direct result of Ariella's aura.

The story itself did seem a bit rushed at first. However, I can overlook that simply because there was a lot to do in this book to reach an end that could be complete. I would have loved to get to know these two more and have a chance to flush out some of there relationships with other people, like we did in the first three books, but it was still there in small bits. The setting in which these characters reside is always a positive in this series and that continues in Reign of Ice. Everything is so detail oriented, right down to the white sand stones of their Winter Palace to the gorgeous detailing in her wedding dress that seem to come alive right on the page. The details embedded in these stories are amazing. Plus, I am thoroughly in debt to the author for making this an actual ending. There are always going to be hints of the possibility of more stories coming from The Land of Fae but it had a decisive finale, and I love that.

The series as a whole has been a breathe of fresh air for me in a very much written about category of fae. I have to say that the growth you read about in all four of these books with the characters is equally matched in the growth of the writing. L.P. Dover has done a brilliant job of creating four individual stories that make up the greater whole and that is something that should be applauded. It could have been so easy to churn out four love stories that were all the same and have a monotonous pattern emerge. Not the case here. You can tell from page one of Forever Fae to the last page of Reign of Ice that her writing has grown and developed an adept feeling for telling you the reader about her characters.

If the characters are what sold the story for me, than everything else was just bonus. To reinvent the wheel is almost impossible so when I got a faery story that was unique and new and refreshing, I have to stop and take notice. This world is a balance between lore and modern. It toes the line of being contemporary characters and ideals with the old school fae tradition. It was one of the reasons I loved this series so much. I hope to hear about another story from this world again, however these four books have won me over with ease and no matter if you're looking for a love story or action or whimsy, Reign of Ice and the rest of the Forever Fae series will ensnare from beginning to end, and what an ending it had! - My Opinion-*****5 Stars!

Take a look at what I thought about the first three in the series too!

Excerpt:

Taking a deep breath, I left the cover of the wall and slowly sauntered out through the crowd with my head held high. The warriors halted in mid-motion, bowing as I walked past them heading toward Brayden. He hadn’t turn to acknowledge me, but with the rigid stance and the tenseness in his muscles I knew he could feel I was there.
“What are you doing here?” Brayden asked, his voice bland and disinterested as he kept his back to me.
“I’m not going to answer that question until you turn to face me,” I snapped. The warriors around us gasped and halted with their mouths wide open, staring back and forth at us.
Brayden crossed his arms over his chest and finally turned to face me. Yep, he was back to being the emotionless bastard that he was before. However, I was going to fix that problem … fast. Now that I had his attention I said, “Whether you like it or not I’m here to train. Either you can fight with me or I’ll find one of these other handsome warriors to teach me a thing or two.”
When all he did was clench his teeth, I backed away from him and pulled out my sword, turning around so I could address the warriors. “All right, since Prince Brayden won’t answer me, who here wants to fight me and help me train?”
Several of the warriors smiled while others looked to Brayden for guidance. I heard one of them whispering to another, “I don’t feel right about fighting his queen.”
Brayden heard the fighter say it too because his gaze instantly found mine. “I’m not his queen,” I announced, narrowing my eyes at him.
“She’s right,” he agreed. “She’s not my queen. If she wants to fight then let’s show her how we do it in the Winter Court.”
The guys all hollered and resumed back to their fighting, except I caught several of them sneak glances my way to watch me battle. Brayden picked a couple of his warriors to stand back and join me, all circling me like I was their prey. With my sword gripped firmly in my right hand, I was ready. However, I couldn’t stop myself from taunting Brayden just a little bit more. He was standing outside of the circle, watching on with a smirk on his face.
“What’s wrong, Prince Brayden, afraid you might get your ass kicked?” I teased.
Brayden’s smirk grew wider and he retorted back, “Not at all, Princess. I just have to see if you are worthy enough to fight me.”

About the author:
I am an avid reader that loves my collection of books. Writing has always been a passion of mine and now I am glad that I get to share my passion with the world. I live in North Carolina and I absolutely love being a southern girl. I spent several years in college starting out with a major in Psychology and then switching to dental. I worked in the dental field for eight years and then decided to stay home with my two beautiful girls. I spent the beginning of my reading years reading suspense thrillers, but now I can't get away from the paranormal/fantasy books. I knew ever since then that if I wrote anything it would be in a paranormal aspect. Now that I have started on my passion and began writing, you will not see me go anywhere without a notebook and pen.

Review:
Stumbling into a fantasy world can take any normal human being by surprise, but when Kara lands in the middle of a war that everyone seems to think she can win for them, well, things gets a little sketchy. She goes from college girl dealing with her mother's death to walking through a magical gate that takes her to the land of  Ourea, inhabited by all sorts of creatures that would make your jaw drop in awe...or run screaming like a little girl away. After unknowingly opening the Grimoire, Kara is transformed into the Vagabond, a keeper of magic that is so powerful nobody has been able to tame it and neither can Kara at first. Being captured by an evil kingdom doesn't help matters either, but while captured she meets Braeden,  the exiled son of the king who becomes her protector in this world. Things aren't always as they seem in Ourea, however, and can she trust everyone that's trying to help her, or are they going to turn on her at the most opportune moment? Find out in Lichgates!

For me, Kara is a great character. She is both down to earth and approachable as a character but still strong and remarkable enough to be involved in such a fantastical story. Kara is still grieving for her mother but trying to move on with her life as best she can, which to be frank is a story within itself. I think everyone has probably lost someone in their life that you can understand how Kara is feeling and how tough that can be to move past. Then you have this crazy fae world that she gets thrown into and does a hell of a job coping with that as well. She is smart enough to know she needs help but strong enough to handle the things that are thrown at her and that's a mark of a well balanced character. The only exception to that where Kara is concerned is her relationship with Braeden.

I didn't know what to think of him through most of the story. On one hand you have this man who wanted to change his life so much that he ran away at such a young age and has fought his whole life to not be the kind of person his father tried to mold him to be. At first I thought he was going to be this sort of knight in shining armor for Kara because of his moral stance. Then things start to go askew when he only wants the Grimoire for himself. and possibly only volunteered to protect her to get it. I struggled with liking him as a character but not in a bad way. I question whether or not he is truly better than the rest of his kind but it made the story interesting so I couldn't hate the concept. I wanted Braeden to be a hero and when he disappointed me at moments it made the story stand out even more.

If I was to talk about standing out, I would be missing a chunk of information if I didn't tell you how unique this world is and how that impacts the story. Fantasy is tough when it comes to worlds. If it isn't strong or detailed enough, then fantasy can become boring and just plain long. Lichgates is neither of those things. Yes, it does take a long time to set up a world and the beginning of a book can seem to take forever to read, and this story is no different. However, the author has to tell you all about everything that goes on in an entire universe different than Earth and humans. That is not easy and there is so much detail to get into a fantasy book that I think it turns people off at the start and they can't see the great story once we get there. It took about 100 pages to really understand the world I was reading about and how characters are interacting and why they are doing the things they are doing. I encourage you to push through that set up because on the other side of all that world building is something that is truly entertaining and fascinating to read. The characters and the world are something that most can't achieve and absolutely worth it in the end.- My Opinion-Buy it!

Review: Summer of Frost by L.P. Dover

Blurb:
The Land of the Fae is strong with all four courts banded as one, but uncertainty still remains as they all work together to end the dark sorcerer’s evil reign. Sorcha—the one and only Winter Court princess—has a secret, a secret that she has enjoyed keeping for the past six months. When a much awaited announcement brings her to the Spring Court, and face to face with the man in her dreams, will she be strong enough to keep up the façade of her icy exterior, or will she melt into his arms like she does in her dreams?

After formally meeting Sorcha at the Winter Ball, Drake—Summer Court prince and army leader—knew there was a fiery passion underneath her winter skin, a passion he wanted desperately to ignite with his own. However, with her frigid responses toward him he’s decided to keep his distance, except how can he when his dreams feel real? Seeing her again only ignites his interest, and this time he’s not going to let his arrogance or her frosty heart stand in his way.

Through unexpected tragedy, Sorcha discovers the one thing the dark sorcerer has spent his whole existence trying to protect, but what makes it more difficult is that only one of the Four is strong enough to retrieve it. The tides have now changed. With Drake’s help, will Sorcha find what she’s searching for? Or will the dark sorcerer beat them to it, shattering all hope of finding out the one thing that could save the Land of the Fae … how to destroy him?

Review:
If I told you I wasn't excited for this third installment in the Forever Fae series, that would be a complete sham. I have been waiting to see if or when Drake, the eldest Summer fae Prince was going to come to the party and Summer of Frost did not disappoint. We first met these two and felt their pull toward each other in the second book and that's where we pick up this book with another visit to the Winter Ball, this time focusing on Drake and Sorcha, the only princess of the Winter Court. The attraction is instant, but it takes a while for these two to truly come together...at least in the real world. You see, Sorcha is a dream walker and can enter others dreams and interact with them,  which she does every night with Drake, but he doesn't know that these passion filled and secret brimming dreams are very real for him and Sorcha. What will happen when he finds out? And of course what plans does the Dark Sorcerer have to get a hold of Sorcha's powers to complete his take over of the Land of Fae? You will find out in Summer of Frost!!

I really love this series and really can't get enough, but I'll be honest Drake has interested me from the very beginning so I was thrilled with him getting his own book. There are so many different reasons to find him fascinating beyond the fact that he is this hunky warrior future King of Summer. He is passionate, fair and HE IS A DRAGON! What? Dragon? Yes, dragon! That was just so awesome to add to the mix of the ever growing number of fae creatures in this world! It's just another in a long list of really cool powers these characters seem to be adding to the mix. This ranks up there with Kalen's wolf pack for me and it was a really fun way to solve the problems that arise for these characters.

Now as much as I could blather on and on about Drake all day long and never stop, Summer of Frost is very much Sorchas' story. She is another kick-ass female to add to all the others and I am thrilled with that. I love that she can beat up the men and handle that spear of hers like nobody else. She is in control of her future and has the stubbornness to keep everything on track. She can be more hardheaded than sometimes Drake wants her to be, but so do the other women in Forever Fae so she fits right in with Calista and Meliantha!

Outside of the two main characters, my favorite part of this story was I felt the change from the first two. The Dark Sorcerer was in this story much less than the first two and that was refreshing. It wasn't the same thing repeated (i.e. betrayal-capture-rescue-happily ever after) We switched it up and made it more about finding a way to kill said Sorcerer instead of just rescuing another princess from his grasp. Plus, I felt Sorcha made the most direct of sacrifices for the good of the whole land in this one and that was something completely different. I'm not saying the other two lacked sacrifice, but this was deliberate and calculated versus being forced upon in a moment of crisis. It can be tough when you start to get this far in a series because you don't want a story to be redundant or not be unique and Summer of Frost excelled in so many ways.

I would have loved to hear more about Sorcha and Drake in this story, but I say that after all of these books. There's just not enough time or pages to write it all down, I'm sure. However, there was one quote that caught my attention that I wanted to know more:

" I love you, Drake. I spent my whole life living in my mother's shadow until you came along. You brought me a love so scorching yet tender that I was bound to be melted by it. "

THAT right there I wanted elaborated on. We never really talked about her relationship with her mother or even her brothers. What makes Sorcha so tough and stubborn? What would make her say something like that? I would have loved to hear a story that made her hide her harp playing abilities and why she is so hell bent on being able to take care of herself and fight the men.

I can not wait to read the conclusion to the Forever Fae series and I will be so sad at the same time. I have really developed a love for these characters and the world they live. Even though the formation of a new Land of Fae will mean the end of a series I would consider one of my favorites, I am looking forward to Brayden and Ariella's story and the epic conclusion!- My Opinon-Buy it!

Review: Fragile Eternity by Melissa Marr

 Fragile Eternity (Wicked Lovely, #3)

Review:
I really love the whole Wicked Lovely world, but this was my least favorite so far. Niall being the Dark King was really interesting and we got more information about him and Irial's relationship more and more. The high court and winter were fascinating to delve deeper into. In particular the High Queen Sorcha and her dealings with the fae and everything else. My sore spot was really Seth, just in general.

There are spoilers abound after this point!!

Okay, I get it. He loves Ash, wants to be with her forever, and is a human. The fae world is dangerous for him and eventually he grows old and dies. All very bad points for loving a fairy, but to go and throw yourself at the mercy of the high queen? Dumb.

Just really dumb.
Desperate? Yes.
Romantic? Maybe.
Wise? NO!

I really hope he doesn't die, only the next books will tell, but there are so many fae that would be upset that I can't see this ending well if it turns bad.

Keenan is also really pissing me off too. I know he has got to rule his court, but BACK OFF. He really does seem to be the bad guy in all of this despite the fact the dark court is suppose to be the "bad" guys. Not really seeing it at this point.

I feel like this was one of those books in the series that is just suppose to move the plot along while introducing new players to the game. It did seem to have a lot of filler and not a lot of action, but maybe it will become important in the next one!-My Opinion-Borrow it!

Cover Reveal: Summer of Frost by L.P. Dover

Summer of Frost by L.P Dover

Blurb:
The Land of the Fae is strong with all four courts banded as one, but yet, uncertainty still remains as they all work together to end the dark sorcerer’s evil reign. Sorcha, the one and only Winter Court princess, has a secret, a secret that she has enjoyed keeping for the past six months, but when a much awaited announcement brings her to the Spring Court, and face to face with the man in her dreams, will she be strong enough to keep up the façade of her icy exterior, or will she melt into his arms like she does in her dreams?
After formally meeting Sorcha at the Winter Ball, Drake, Summer Court prince and army leader, knew there was a fiery passion underneath her winter skin, a passion he wanted desperately to ignite with his own, but with her frigid responses towards him he’s decided to keep his distance, except how can he when his dreams feel real.
The tides have now changed, and with Drake’s help, will Sorcha find what she’s searching for, or will the dark sorcerer beat them to it, shattering all hope of finding out the one thing that could save the Land of the Fae … how to destroy him.

Wicked New Wednesday

Betrayals of Spring (Forever Fae, #2)
by L. P. Dover

Summary: The smell of rain vastly approaches as we are lying on the ground in a sea of flowers. They surround our bodies while the fresh Spring wind caresses our skin with its soft, gentle touch. Combined as one, we stare into each other’s eyes as we bask in the pleasure of our love and OUR land.

The Land of the Fae has flourished bringing a new beginning and a new court, the Fall Court. Five years have passed since then along with the dreaded day that Meliantha, Summer Court Princess and one of the powerful Four, was betrayed and broken-hearted by the sexy and alluring Winter Prince, Kalen. Spurned by the man she loves, Meliantha has turned and fallen into the arms of the fierce and handsome warrior, Finn, who understands she can never love him, but wants more than anything to mend her broken heart.
The Winter Solstice Ball is approaching, meaning Meliantha will have to face the Winter Prince and make it out of there with her heart intact. But what does she do when Prince Kalen acts as if nothing ever happened and seems more in love with her than ever before?

The dark sorcerer has planned his twisted game of lies and deceit well, and has enjoyed making himself a player without anyone’s knowledge. The game is almost over and the players are exactly where they are needed to be. Will Meliantha figure out his twisted game and save all the players? Or will the dark sorcerer once again obtain the power of the Four and take everything away from her…..even her one true love?

Review:  Back to the Land of the Fae we go for the second installment of Forever Fae, Betrayals of Spring. This time we follow the Summer Courts' second oldest princess Meliantha and the story couldn't be more different for her than her sister's story. After having her heart broken by who she thought was Prince Kalen, Meliantha decides she isn't going to be the fragile princess she was when we began this series and during the 5 years between books she has transformed into a warrior princess, having trained hard learning everything she can to protect not only the ones she cares about but her own heart. This happens to be my favorite part of the entire book. Meliantha is a kick-ass women when we meet her again and it couldn't be more awesome. She can defend herself, she rolls with the warriors  and she is an independent women who doesn't need a man, or anyone for that matter. Now, her sister Calista in the first book was no slouch, but she is put to shame when Meliantha comes back into the picture. However, despite what she may tell herself, the most amazing part is that she still has her kind heart, even if she hides it under all that armor. She cares about her plants, sprites, and family with no less vigor, just an over-arcing theme that she can now protect them if need be, especially with her added power of healing. This balance of stength and compassion is what ends up saving both her own life and the life of her Prince in the end, and I personally think is what makes her the best asset to the Fae against the Dark Sorcerer.
Another aspect that I love about these books is the world. The way the Land of the Fae is described is so thorough that I can picture the courts and the forest as though I'm standing in the middle of them. Even just beyond the physical description of the land, I feel like I'm being taken on a tour when I'm reading. Introduced to so many different kinds of Fae as we go along like redcaps, Leprechauns and Tryvar in this story, you can put these characters into the landscape and almost see the entire thing come alive, which I would like to add is NOT an easy thing to do.I always believe that having developed characters is great but when you can put them in an amazing world that has depth and range THAT is what makes an amazing story, and you'll find that in Betrayals of Spring.
To wrap this up, I enjoyed this book immensely. I may have fallen in love with Ashur, her guardian and Kalen's wolf pack just a little bit....or a lot. The only thing I had written down in my notes was that I would love to see the mortal world get thrown in more. They talk about going there and we get a little glimpse of it towards the end, but I'd love to see some adventure there for someone. I thought this story was beautifully written and you can see the obvious growth from the first book to the second and the story definitely benefits from it. I can not wait to see the other two characters of the prophecy get there own book and see what is next for the Land of the Fae! - My Opinion- Buy!

Review: Forever Fae

 By L.P. Dover
Summary:  He leans down, lips parted, and then our lips connect……….We didn’t know that this one kiss has FOREVER changed the Land of the Fae.
According to the Prophecy proclaimed many years ago, Princess Calista of the Summer Court is destined to change the Land of the Fae from the evil determined to destroy it. Her powers are phenomenal, and she secretly trains for battle with her handsome warrior friend, Merrick, who unbeknownst to her protects her heart as well, in hopes of keeping it for himself. At least, until the seductive Prince Ryder attends the Guardian Ceremony and instantly sends a fire burning through her veins and a connection so deep they both discover a love above anything imaginable.
No one knows how Calista is destined to change the kingdoms, but there is one that does. He not only craves Calista’s power, but her body as well, and his goal is to steal her power, make her his Dark Queen, and take over the Land of the Fae.
Will the evil succeed in claiming Calista’s soul? Or will the two men that fight for her heart save her from despair, and help her fulfill her destiny to become what she was meant to be.

Review:   Forever Fae was a pleasant surprise I came across in a Goodreads group, Read4Review thread. L.P. Dover was kind enough to be giving out copies in exchange for an honest review....and I couldn't be happier for deciding to sign up! Taking place in the Land of Fae, with semi-familiar courts of faeries The Winter and the The Summer courts ( I say familiar because you may recognize some players in faerie lore such as Queen Mab and King Oberon) this story revolves around two young adults, Princess Calista and Prince Ryder. This is their love story, one that not only took some detours along the way but tested whether or not their love story was going to be based on what they felt for each other.....or destiny.
After sharing a vision during a dance while celebrating the Guardian Ceremony for Princess Calista, a Summer Court tradition that placed one of those love-story detours A.K.A Merrick (her best friend) in front of them. Ryder and Calista have to figure out what they feel for each other versus what fate has in store for both them and the entire Land of Fae. While their love is blooming, a nasty Sorcerer is plotting his revenge against the Fae by using some of the most trusted people in both the Winter and Summer courts, and all he wants his Calista's powers.
I'd like to start with Calista and her powers. Personally, I loved Calista! She is independent, powerful and just plain no-nonsense type of girl. She isn't a damsel in distress, she can stand on her own two feet, use her powerful magic when she needs too and she fights hard to not just be the princess she is supposed to be but protect the people she loves. As much as the men in this story do go to save her from the Sorcerer, she plays just as big a role in getting herself out of harms way than they do. She also isn't afraid to define the relationships the two most important men, Merrick and Ryder, have with her. She puts Merrick in his place as both best friend and Guardian but not love interest. Ryder on the other hand, got a good taste of what Calista thinks about his jealousy of Merrick and what that could cost him if he isn't careful! Basicly she is kick-ass but still able to fall in love and get her happily-ever-after.
Secondly, I'd like to say that one of my favorite things in stories is the ability to create an original and vibrant world, and this story is one of my favorites in a long time. I can picture what this world looks like in all the courts, I can see the black forest when I'm reading about it, and the characters in the story are easily placed within that world, exactly where their suppose to be. I also can see the connection of the Land of Fae and the human world, which is an added bonus to the already awesome setting. Not many people can connect a fictional world and the real world well, and even though we don't really enter the human world in this book, you can see a connection. In other words, the world to me is complete and I love that!
Overall, I'm going to give this book a BUY because I thought it was an awesome read and think you should support an author like this that has such obvious talent and really deserves to get more people reading their stories!!!! - Rating: Buy
